This Project was a real pleasure.. and challenge to work on! A contractor in AZ wanted to transform his basement into a bar, dining nook, wine tasting room, and pool game rooms. The strong Tuscan vibe and dark tones give this a very cozy classic look.
I used a few cabinets and the flat stock Alder from a cabinet manufacturer, but I modified them to suit the use and design inspiration photos the owner had.
The custom tables, bench seats, wine storage, and arched wine “grotto” were all custom made and finished on site. I have a video on YouTube (Click here to watch that) that shows some of the process of making the round table tops with the steel column in the center.
The bar had to have a beer Kegerator at its heart that was removable for servicing. The site built shelves have inset LED strip lights on the top and bottom of each shelf.
Many parts of the bar and wine grotto and all the other areas had to be stained and clear coated on site, some in place.
It was the location of numerous family and company gatherings, as I understand it.
