Making the frame for this hood took me back to the old days of cutting roof rafters.
Using 3/4″ thick plywood for the frame allowed me to make it match the designer’s drawings while keeping it light. After the hood vent was installed and tested I covered the front with 2 layers of bending plywood. The finish and texture was handled by others.
Laying out and fitting the open floating shelves to match along with the inset top and bottom LED tape lights was deceptively laborious.
I’ve included some of the progress pictures to give you a better understanding of the process. The “Finished” pictures are not quite complete. The owner will be having a special paint treatment done later.
